Originally a New York City native, upon moving to Sydney, Australia in 2009 he quickly rose to the top of the Australian industry as the go-to engineer/producer for projects that successfully straddle the line between critical acclaim and commercial success. His work has become synonymous with the highest standards in contemporary music, displayed through his uncanny ability to find great songs and enhance them sonically whilst retaining the artists' creative vision.

After graduating from Syracuse University, Eric J worked as both a musician and an engineer in New York assisting Ron Hui at Greene St. Recording, famous for iconic records by acts including Run DMC and Pete Rock. He later moved to Atlantic Records to work under revered producer and arranger Arif Mardin, further developing his craft through his work assisting Mardin.

In 2001 he established his own business as a freelance mix engineer and producer. Over the last four years he has solidified his international reputation with a steady flow of accolades and awards including a Grammy for his work on Flume’s album ‘Skin’; multiple ARIA wins for Engineer of the Year including his work on Chet Faker's breakout debut Built On Glass; mixing credits on numerous platinum and gold accredited records and has mixed the winning song in Australian tastemaker radio station Triple J's Hottest 100 poll for the last three years running.

Flume, Odesza, Nick Murphy fka Chet Faker, St. Vincent, The Chemical Brothers, Flight Facilities, MK, Tove Lo, Kimbra, Kygo, Louis The Chid, Whethan, Weezer and Kylie Minogue are just a few of the names that Eric J has worked with in recent years.
